Resident evil 4 Remake Plus One ammo Count

Resident Evil 4 Remake: What does Plus 1 Mean Under Ammo Counter

When playing Resident Evil 4 remake, you might notice a “+1” underneath your ammo counter. However, the plus one ammo only appears when using certain weapons. It’s a new feature that adds a bit of realism when using firearms, which we’ll explain below.

What does the +1 ammo counter mean in Resident Evil 4 remake?

When you see a plus one in your ammo counter in Resident Evil 4 remake, you have a full magazine in your firearm and one in the chamber. However, this concept might be confusing for those who haven’t handled firearms before because most video games overlook how real semi-automatic guns work.

For example, say you have an empty handgun with a magazine capacity of 13 rounds. If you insert a fresh magazine and charge the weapon, you can fire 13 times before it’s empty. However, if you reload with a new magazine before firing 13 times, you’ll still have 1 round in the chamber, which gives you 13+1 or 14 rounds.

For semi-automatic weapons and shotguns Resident Evil 4 remake keeps track of whether you have a round chambered when you reload. You also can add +1 round by tapping the reload button when you have a full magazine.

Note, like in real life, you can’t get plus one ammo in a revolver or bolt-action rifle. It also doesn’t work on the Red9 because it uses an internal magazine. However, the rest of the handguns, sub-machine guns, semi-automatic rifle, and shotguns can be reloaded with a round chambered, just like in real life.
