The Honkai: Star Rail Jing Yuan release date is arriving soon, with the character being featured in one of the most highly anticipated banners for the game since launch. One of the reasons Jing Yuan is so popular is because he’s been featured in the story already as the general of the Cloud Knights, but he’s also a powerful lightning AoE user that any player can form a team around. So it’s understandable that many fans have been saving up just for the Jing Yuan banner. Here’s the earliest time that you can grab Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail.
What is the Honkai: Star Rail Jing Yuan banner release date?
The Honkai: Star Rail Jing Yuan banner release date is May 17, 2023.
This featured banner, called “Swirl of Heavenly Spear,” will mark the second half of the game’s 1.0 version before the next major update. The current banner with 5-star Seele isn’t bad by any means, but the Jing Yuan banner has better four-star characters including Sushang, March 7th, and Tingyun (if this banner remains unchanged from the closed beta). This trio are great characters for their roles, so the banner is difficult to pass up.
Fortunately, we already know a lot about Jing Yuan because he was in the closed beta for the game. Of course, his gameplay and banner could have been changed since then, but from what we’ve seen so far, his Lightning Lord talent called Prana Extirpated is amazing. This Lightning Lord effectively acts like an additional character in the queue that deals AoE lightning damage to enemies on the board whenever he turns up.
Beyond that, the general’s Rifting Zenith skill and Lightbringer Ultimate deals even more lightning damage to all enemies on the field. Combining Jing Yuan with support Harmony characters that have the ability to push him forward, like Asta or Bronya, makes for a very strong team build.
