In the dark and dangerous world of Diablo 4, every item counts. Whether it’s a sword, a shield, a potion, or a gem, you’ll need them all to survive. But don’t miss out on the Murmuring Obols, as you’ll need this special currency to buy valuable items in the game.
These mysterious coins can unlock secrets and treasures beyond your wildest dreams. So without any further ado, here’s everything you need to know about farming Murmuring Obols in Diablo 4.
How to get Diablo 4’s Murmuring Obols currency
One of the best ways to get Murmuring Obols in Diablo 4 is to complete world events. These are random encounters that happen in the open regions of Diablo 4. They are marked by an orange circle on your minimap or a triangle symbol on your map. You can do them solo or with other players.
World events are timed challenges that involve fighting enemies, protecting NPCs, or destroying totems. They usually last for about 2 minutes and have different objectives and rewards depending on the event type. Some examples of world events are Defend the Caravan, Destroy the Totems, Kill the Possessed, and Defeat Ashava.
By completing a world event, you will get access to an Event Chest, which drops some loot and always includes 35 Murmuring Obols. The amount of Murmuring Obols remains the same whether you complete the Mastery Objective or not. The Mastery Objective is an optional challenge that gives you more loot if you complete it.
What is the Murmuring Obols max cap?
By default, you can only hold 500 Murmuring Obols in your inventory at a time. You will need to spend them at the Purveyor of Curiosities to lower your amount so that you can get more. If you find a world event nearby, be sure to check your Obol amount before participating, otherwise you might waste your time and not get any reward.
Who is the Murmuring Obols vendor?
Murmuring Obols are exclusively used to buy items from the Purveyor of Curiosities, a vendor that can be found in the main city of each major region of Diablo 4. The vendor sells unidentified items and Whispering Keys, which are used to open Silent Chests.
