The Diablo 4 Shako, otherwise known as the unique helm Harlequin Crest, has officially dropped in the game. The item is a throwback to one of the most powerful items in Diablo 2, and just as powerful (if not more so) in Diablo 4. That said, it’s only been confirmed to drop a few times so far and it’s only appeared for players who are quite high level. Many users have speculated how to get the Harlequin Crest to drop given how rare it is, even among players at high World Tier difficulties. Here’s what you need to do to have the chance for the Diablo 4 Shako to drop.
How to get the Diablo 4 Shako drop
To get the Diablo 4 Shako to drop in the game, you need to make sure you are playing on World Tier 4 Torment difficulty.
From there, the Harlequin Crest will most likely drop in one of three places: Helltide Chests specifically for helms, drops from elites and bosses in Nightmare Dungeons using high-tier sigils, and helm rewards from the Tree of Whispers upon collecting enough Grim Favors. Even then, the drop rate for the Shako is exceedingly rare. Even with all of the XP grinding and all the dedicated Diablo 4 streamers farming dungeons throughout Sanctuary, we have only had two or three verified drops for the item.
That said, it’s been confirmed that the Harlequin Crest comes at different item power levels, meaning that there are Sacred and Ancestral variations of the unique item. Regardless of which version of the item you might get, though, it will have the extraordinary effect of having the player gain 10 to 20% damage reduction and gaining a whopping 4 ranks in every skill.
The Shako also comes with boosts to armor, max life, cooldown reduction, resource generation, and an all-stat boost. But all of these are just nice perks compared to the 4 additional ranks to every ability and passive in the skill tree.
