Shortly after moving to the Invincible, a side quest called “The White-Winged Wonder” will become available. If you travel to Martha’s Rest, you’ll find a merchant nearby that will implore you to rescue a Chocobo the locals call “Whiteheart.” He tells you that this Chocobo is a hero and frequently comes to the rescue of those who find themselves in dangerous situations. He says that now it’s their turn to rescue her and her flock.
Once you accept the quest, you’ll find Whiteheart and her flock under attack by poachers. It turns out Whiteheart is Clive’s Chocobo, Ambrosia, who has been missing for almost two decades. After rescuing her, she elects to join the party along with her flock, and the merchant gives you chocobo tack to outfit them with. From then on, you can ride a Chocobo in most areas outside of towns and settlements.
