The Final Fantasy 16 max level cap changes depending on how far you’ve gotten in the game. The FF16 level cap is fairly high, so you’ll need to complete a lot of side quests in order to have Clive reach his highest level potential. It’s also important to note that enemies will generally scale with Clive’s level as well, which will encourage you to upgrade your weapons and equipment as best as you can. Here’s the highest level that Clive can achieve in FF16.
What is the Final Fantasy 16 max level cap?
The Final Fantasy 16 max level cap is 100, but it’s only 50 in your first playthrough of the game.
After finishing Final Fantasy 16 on either Action Focus or Story Focus, you will unlock New Game Plus (or NG+) as well as Final Fantasy Mode. You’ll need to select this special Final Fantasy Mode, which effectively replaces Action Focus and Story Focus, in a New Game Plus runthrough in order to lift the initial level cap of 50 up to 100.
As you might suspect, Final Fantasy Mode is essentially a harder difficulty mode that comes with stronger enemies. And as mentioned, they will also scale with Clive’s level, so battles will still remain quite challenging. That said, this mode will also unlock a stronger variety of weapons and equipment, including a unique Ultima weapon. New Game Plus will also carry over most items and abilities that you’ve earned thus far, so Clive has the ability to cope with the increased difficulty.
Furthermore, you’ll need to finish the game on Final Fantasy Mode in order to receive the Gold Trophy for it on PS5, which means this will be necessary to earn the Platinum Trophy for the game too.
