The Final Fantasy 16 Ultima Weapon is one of the most powerful weapons that Clive can get in the game. But the path to unlock and craft his ultimate weapon in FF16 is fairly difficult, as well it should be since the weapon is a legendary sword in past Final Fantasy games. That said, the sword’s incredible 700 attack power is well worth the effort to get it, especially given the strength of the enemies that Clive will face in Final Fantasy Mode where he can finally achieve his max level cap. Here’s what you need to do to get the fabled FF16 Ultima Weapon.
How to unlock and craft Final Fantasy 16 Ultima Weapon
To unlock the Final Fantasy 16 Ultima Weapon, you’ll need to finish the game and then replay it on New Game Plus (NG+) on the harder Final Fantasy Mode.
Then to craft it, you’ll need to bring three components to the blacksmith: the Ragnarok sword and two extra items. We won’t say what these two additional items are to keep this guide free of spoilers, but you will receive them just by going through the rather linear story.
The Ragnarok sword, however, will require you to complete a rather lengthy questline that involves the blacksmith at Cid’s Hideway. As Clive progress through the main story, the blacksmith will offer him to complete a series of side four quests called Blacksmith’s Blues I, II, III, and IV. Specifically, these will unlock after Main Story Quest 35, 47, 59, and 62. So you don’t have to worry about completing these until about the midgame.
Once you have finished all the Blacksmith’s Blues quests, Clive can craft the Ragnarok. He can then bring that sword into New Game Plus, where he can learn the formula for creating the Ultima Weapon in the first place, and then use it as a component to finally obtain the Ultima Weapon.
