The Sea of Stars Flimsy Hammers mystery is one of the more illusive parts of Sabotage Studio’s RPG. These weird items don’t seem to have a practical use, yet they can’t be for nothing. Here’s what Flimsy Hammers are used for in Sea of Stars and where they are supposed to go.
What are Flimsy Hammers used for in Sea of Stars?
The Flimsy Hammers are used in The Crypt, an area the game takes you during the critical path. And while it is part of a story mission, this is also the place that lets certain Kickstarter backers see their monuments. Use the teleporter in the direct middle and very top (it’s the fourth teleporter when starting from the top left) and use your wind push ability on the broken tombstone marked in the above picture. Push it up and then to the left to reveal a ladder.
Go down the ladder and then interact with the wall at the end of the path. It will say the wall “looks rather flimsy.” This is a direct reference to the Flimsy Hammers, so use the Flimsy Hammer on that wall. There are four walls, one for each Flimsy Hammer in the game.
This then leads to another room with a room with a wardrobe cabinet in it, which is a reference to The Messenger, the studio’s previous game that shares a universe with Sea of Stars. All the hammers lead up to a big pun that also opens up the aforementioned wardrobe. You can then go in the wardrobe and meet the game’s developers. This is also very likely a reference to Chrono Trigger where players can interact with digital avatars of its creators.
Where are the Flimsy Hammers in Sea of Stars?
There are only four Flimsy Hammers, and they’ll all take some time to unlock. You have to:
- Beat every Wheels Champion, as well as The Watchmaker.
- Catch all 23 fish types and talk to the Master Fisherman in Mirth.
- Feat the last boss and get the true ending.
- Finish the 11 question packs on casual and expert difficulty in Town of Lucent.
