Does MW3 Beta Access Require Pre-Order Do You Need Have to Play

Does MW3 Beta Access Require a Pre-Order?

Many fans are asking whether MW3 beta access requires them to pre-order the game. That’s a question well worth asking since the PlayStation early access period for the Modern Warfare 3 beta is already in full swing. Pre-ordering the game through an online outlet or a retailer will net you a code that you can use to gain early access to the beta. Xbox and PC players will need to wait a week before the crossplay second weekend is available starting October 12. Here’s whether you need to pre-order MW3 to play the beta.

Do you need to pre-order MW3 to play the beta?

No, you don’t need to pre-order MW3 to play the beta, as there are many ways to enter it.

If you don’t own a beta code, you can enter the MW3 beta during its open period from October 8-10 on PS5 and PS4, and then from October 14-16 for all platforms including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. This isn’t wildly known likely because publisher Activision wants to make sure that pre-order numbers are high for the game. But it’s important that as many fans as possible enter the beta so that the servers can be stress-tested before the game’s full release on November 10.

More Call of Duty

There are other ways to get a beta code for early access as well. There are many MW3 beta code giveaways that you find on Twitter and Twitch from your favorite influencers. If you’re in the US and you have an Xfinity account, it is possible that you are eligible for a beta code by going through their Xfinity rewards as well. (I have an account but it wasn’t eligible for some reason, so some restrictions likely apply to this promotion.)

At any rate, those who do have a beta code will get an early start on reaching the level cap and getting all of the weapons, equipment, perks, and killstreaks on the progression track.
