AC Mirage The Calling: How to Find the 'Aqarquf Dunes

AC Mirage The Calling: How to Find the ‘Aqarquf Dunes

The Assassin’s Creed Mirage The Calling side mission is one of the more obtuse ones in the game. It tasks players with finding the ‘Aqarquf Dunes but does not give many more details. It is also fittingly tied to the Mysterious Shards scattered around. Here’s how to find the hidden place in the ‘Aqarquf Dunes in AC Mirage for The Calling.

How to find the ‘Aqarquf Dunes from The Calling in AC Mirage

To find the hidden place in the ‘Aqarquf Dunes for The Calling in AC Mirage, you have to first get the mission assigned to you. It becomes active after killing Al-Ghul, your first big assassination a target. You will get the prompt for The Calling shortly after.

From there, you can consult Nehal’s one hint. It notes that players have to go into the desert “north of the ‘Aqarquf Dunes” to an oasis. While the game does not indicate where the ‘Aqarquf Dunes are, the context clues point to north near a small body of water. Looking at the map, the spot that best fits this description is near the very northern tip of the map north of Dru-Kurigalzu and The Round City. There is an oasis there near a synchronization point, as shown in the above map.

Go there and take a dip into that small oasis. There will be a small opening deep into the water on the south side of the oasis. You will find a giant cave leading down. Swim inside of it.

Keep going until you hit a cave. Do some light platforming until you hit a special cave with three gear chests. This is the “hidden place” referred to in the notes.

This is where you can cash in your Mysterious Shards. There are only 10 and you get them by assassinating various characters marked with the golden Mysterious Shard icon. There is a sword, dagger, and outfit that you can buy.

Trading in three shards unlocks the Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar, which is named after the Persian mythical sword. It is already fully leveled up and increases the damage you deal by 50% but also caps your health at 50%.

Spending five shards unlocks Milad’s Outfit, who is from the same Persian legend Shahnameh. This leveled up armor blinds everyone within 15 meters of an air assassination.

Trading in your last two shards unlocks the Samsaama, another famed blade that acts as your dagger in Mirage. This powerful dagger yields 10% health every five times you hit an enemy.
