The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 level cap works differently than in past games in the series. Knowing what the max level is indeed important since each level awards a certain number of skill points, and you’ll need quite a lot of them to fully upgrade the abilities for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Fortunately, it doesn’t take too long to farm experience points in the game, whether it’s by completing the many side activities spread throughout the map or by performing long trick combos while you’re swinging around the city. Here’s what the level cap is in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
What is the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 level cap?
The level cap in Spider-Man 2 is 60, with no additional experience points being awarded after it has been reached.
In other words, Level 60 is actually a hard level cap, which is a bit of a departure from the original game. In Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4, the level cap is 50, but you can continue to earn experience points beyond that to earn minor stat boosts called Superior levels. These provide small increases to stats like max health and melee damage, so you could treat them like paragon levels in other games. Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which has a level cap of 30 in new game plus, also has Superior level ups, but there is no impact on stats with them.
However, Superior level ups don’t apply with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and any experience points you might get after reaching this level cap are lost to the void. In my experience, I actually reached the level cap of 60 halfway through the main storyline. While this was great for completing all three skill trees, which made the game a relative breeze, this meant that all of the experience points earned as rewards for completing missions were left on the table. So you may not want to be as aggressive in gaining levels as I was.
