The error involving the Spiderman 2 Cuban flag has caused an uproar. While exploring the home of Miles Morales, who has Puerto Rican heritage by way of her mother, a picture on the wall accidentally shows the Cuban flag instead of a Puerto Rican flag. Both flags are consistently confused since the difference between them are a color swap, but this is still a significant oversight by Insomniac Games. Fans all across social media, like Reddit and Twitter, have since notified the developer of the issue and it has been acknowledged. Here’s what we know so far about when Insomniac Games will fix this Cuban flag mistake in Marvel’s Spider-man 2 for PS5.
When will the Spiderman 2 Cuban flag error be fixed?
It’s unclear when Insomniac Games will replace the Cuban flag with the Puerto Rican flag in Spiderman 2, though a developer has stated that a fix is coming.
James Stevenson, the director of community and marketing at the developer, stated on Twitter on October 20 that a “fix is coming for that” in reference to the error. Since then, there has been no ETA on when this fix will happen, at the time of this writing. However, we suspect that it will be patched sooner than later because it’s become a focal point in gaming news.
At first glance, this confusion between the two flags would seem to be a minor slip-up. The problem, though, is that this isn’t the first time this mishap has happened in a Spider-man game. In the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, several grocery stores in the game use the incorrect flag as noted in the pictures of this thread on Reddit. Even before that, Marvel made the same mistake in an issue of the Amazing Spider-man comic where the web-slinger visits Cuba for the first time.
