The inclusion of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 cameos is something fans want to know about. Ever since the first game in Insomniac’s Spider-Man series, many players wondered about whether there was something more to seeing the Avengers Tower or the Sanctum Sanctorum from Doctor Strange while exploring New York City. With Insomniac also developing the much-anticipated Wolverine game as well, some are hoping that some crossover heroes might make an appearance in this latest Spider-Man game. Here’s whether there are any cameos from other Marvel heroes in Spider-Man 2 for PS5.
Are there any Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 cameos?
No, unfortunately there are no cameos from other Marvel heroes in the game.
All of the cameos in Spider-Man 2 are from characters that are in the Spider-Man universe and are canonically a part of Insomniac’s own universe variant that some have dubbed the Gamerverse (or the Earth-1048 timeline). You’ll find several cameos of other Spider-Man characters in the game, particularly at the end of some side objectives like The Flame questline or the Unidentified Targets activity.
The game does have a post-credits scene with a Spider-Man character that gives a sneak peek into a possible DLC or perhaps a sequel, but we won’t spoil it for now. Still, there are no crossover cameos from other heroes in the Marvel universe, like Wolverine, Daredevil, Iron Man, or Captain America.
That said, the chance that we will see a crossover or some kind of special cameo is growing. The Gamerverse Spider-Man appeared in a multiverse crossover in the Spider-Geddon #0 comic back in 2018. He was also responsible for training Miles Morales. There’s also an upcoming Spider-Man Unlimited Infinity Comic that will see this video game version of Spider-Man meet the one from Earth-616, otherwise known as the “original” Peter Parker. With Insomniac’s Gamerverse continuing to have an influence in the overall Marvel canon, it’s becoming more likely that it may extend beyond just the Spider-verse.
On top of that, it’s known that the Wolverine video game does take place in the same timeline as the Spider-Man video games. A crossover or cameo might not happen soon, but this does lay the groundwork for them to meet. The sequel to Spider-Man 2 would be a good opportunity for Insomniac to include other heroes, including Daredevil who shares Wilson Fisk as a nemesis and offers a business card to the web-slinger in a form of a collectible in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man.
