The new Monopoly Go Emojis feature has released globally, but it might be confusing how to use them and how to get more of them. If you’ve been wondering what the third tab in the My Showroom collection is, it has been reserved for emojis. Since there is a lot of room available on the empty shelves for this new collectible, you can expect a lot of opportunities to earn additional emojis, obtaining some free dice rolls and cash as reward for filling up a shelf. Unless you’ve seen the trailer for emojis, though, you might be wondering what these are for. Here’s a quick explanation of how to use an emoji in Monopoly Go for iOS and Android.
How to use Monopoly Go emojis
Monopoly Go emojis are generally used as taunts that you can add to shutdowns, bank heists, and other activities. To use them, you need to click on your icon after performing, say, a shutdown and adding an emoji from your collection.
After that happens, a notification of your shutdown or bank heist will appear as normal on the timeline of the person you attacked, except that it will come with an emoji attached to it. That’s pretty much all there is to it, but it’s a way to distinguish yourself from other attackers in a player’s feed.
How to get more Monopoly Go emojis
[Update] You can earn additional Monopoly Go emojis by winning them in events. One example is the mistletoe kiss emoji in the Christmas Gift Partners event and another Santa emoji in the Santa’s Sprint tournament.
[Original] It’s unclear at this point which events these will be. But if the shield skins and board tokens are any indication, emojis will likely be rewards and milestones in main events, tournaments, partner events, and mini-game events like Peg-E or treasure digs like Moonlight Treasures. That said, we hope we don’t have milestones that are just emojis and that take up rewards for cash and free dice rolls.
The short trailer for these emojis shows that we might be able to get a bundle of them as a pack. However, we haven’t seen anything like this in the game quite yet. We’ll update this guide on any additional details that we might have about emojis.
