In Palworld, breeding refers to the process of reproducing Pals (the friendly monster companions you collect) to create new offspring. This way players are not limited to catching Pals solely in the wild. Breeding allows you to obtain new species you might not encounter during your adventures.
How to breed Pals in Palworld
Breeding Pals in Palworld is a key mechanic that allows players to create new Pals with different traits. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to breed Pals:
- Breeding Farm:
- Unlock the Breeding Farm at Level 19 in the tech tree. Build the Breeding Farm using 100 Wood, 20 Stone, and 50 Fiber. Make sure there is enough space in your base for the large Breeding Farm structure.
- Cake:
- Cake is an important item for breeding. Use a cooking pot with the following ingredients to craft one:
- 5 Flour (made from Wheat at a Mill; requires Pals with Watering abilities)
- 8 Red Berries (dropped from low-level Pals, harvested, or obtained from Caprity)
- 7 Milk (dropped from Mozzarina or defeated)
- 8 Eggs (dropped from Chikipi or defeated)
- 2 Honey (dropped from Beegarde or defeated)
- Cake is an important item for breeding. Use a cooking pot with the following ingredients to craft one:
- Assemble your Breeding Pair:
- Choose a male and female Pal of any species. Remember, some unique combinations guarantee specific offspring.
Each cake requires 2,000 Work to make. So make sure you have enough supply of cake to start the breeding process. Once the cake is crafted, put it in the Chest of the Breeding Farm. Ensure you have a male and a female Pal of the species you want to breed. Both Pals should be working at your base.
Pick up the male and female Pals and place them inside the Breeding Farm. A “Breeding” indicator will appear in the middle of the farm, along with a progress bar around a mystery egg shape. When the progress gauge is full, the paired Pals will consume a cake from the box in front of the Breeding Farm. An egg will appear in the center of the Breeding Farm when the breeding is completed.
Offspring will be the same species as the parents. In the majority of cases, offspring will be a different species. The species is determined by the ‘strength’ level, with the offspring being the species closest to the average ‘strength’ of the parents.
