You’ll quickly find yourself needing to farm metal scraps in Enshrouded. Many of the beginning recipes require this elusive material, and when you find the blacksmith, you’ll need a steady supply to craft his wares. Unfortunately, you can’t just mine metal scrap like you can stone. Instead, you’ll need to find locations where it spawns.
How to farm metal scraps in Enshrouded
You’ll likely have a tough time if you’re trying to find a place to farm metal scraps in Enshrouded. While many recipes require this resource, it’s rarer than the logs and stone you’ve worked with so far.
What makes finding metal scraps tough is that they don’t appear in any mining nodes. Instead, you have to scavenge them out in the world. Fortunately, these items drop from enemies equipped with metal armor or weapons and objects that use metal in their construction. The trick to farming metal scraps in Enshrouded is finding a location that contains a concentration of these.
The best place to farm scrap metal early in the game is at Scavenger Camps. Fortunately, when you find the blacksmith and invite him back to your base, the game will task you with collecting metal scraps and highlight one of these camps on your map.
To farm metal scraps, find as many of these camps as possible and utilize fast travel to warp between them. Enemies respawn every two real-world hours, so when you need scraps, you can start your Scavenger-killing circuit. Along the way, make sure to bash down anything that looks like it contains metal, and you’ll find plenty of scraps.
If you don’t mind cheesing things a bit, almost everything outside your altar’s zone respawns when you log off. So, you can quit the main menu and reload your game to quickly fill locations back up with material you can break up for scrap.
