You’ll need to find iron ore locations in Enshrouded, as it’s resource that you will need to create many of the more advanced crafting recipes. It can be found in the Kindlewastes region, in caves to the north of the Ancient Spire. You can also find it in the Cave Passage, which is located northeast of Ridgeback Mine.
Where to find Iron Ore in Enshrouded
In Enshrouded, Iron Ore starts appearing after you reach the Kindlewastes region in the game. To find Iron Ore, follow these steps:
- Northwest of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire
- There’s a large cave system to the north of the Ancient Spire in the Kindlewastes region. Explore this cave system to find deposits of Iron Ore. This cave is a great option for beginners as it’s free of enemies and requires no special fire level.
- Southeast of the Ancient Spire
- Another cave system lies southeast of the Ancient Spire in the Kindlewastes. This location offers a larger haul of Iron Ore, but it’s guarded by level 21 enemies and requires a fire level of at least 5 to navigate the Shroud effectively. Head southeast of the Ancient Spire and look for the cave entrance.
- Northeast of Ridgeback Mine
- This mine holds the most Iron Ore in the game, but it’s also the most challenging to access. Located northeast of Ridgeback Mine on the far eastern side of the map, it’s an enshrouded area, so you’ll need to destroy the Shroud Root before mining freely. Additionally, the mine is crawling with enemies, so be prepared for a fight.
Many caves in the Kindlewastes region are full of Shroud, preventing easy fast-travel out. Be cautious not to linger too long and make sure to have a means to escape. To facilitate repeated exploration, consider establishing a base near these iron-rich caves. This makes it easier to return and harvest Iron Ore whenever needed.
Once you’ve gathered enough Iron Ore, bring it back to your Blacksmith to create various crafting projects. Remember to convert the ore into Iron Bars at the Smelter, requiring 10 Iron Ore and 25 Charcoal. By following these steps and exploring the Kindlewastes region, you should be able to locate Iron Ore and use it for crafting powerful items in Enshrouded.
