Origin Game Time, a program that offers various games for a free 48-hour trial, has expanded to four titles: The Sims 4, Battlefield 4, Titanfall, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. As the promotion states, "sometimes the only way to know if you'll love a game is to play it for yourself."
Better yet, whatever progress you earn in the game will be carried over if you choose to purchase the full game after the Game Time clock runs out.
Putting more emphasis on Origin Game Time is actually a great move by Electronic Arts. Not much is happening in the first quarter this year for the developer apart from Battlefield Hardline. Besides, Steam sometimes offers free trials as well for several games on the weekend, and PlayStation Now offers rentals of several titles at a price. Origin Game Time is absolutely free and you can start the trial any time you want.
With so many updates and patches made since the launch of these four games on offer, this would be a solid opportunity to see whether they now have the features and the online stability that you wanted in the first place. The Sims 4 in particular has received a trio of free patches adding several career options, ghosts, and pools. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is also quite an underrated action RPG that still holds up today. (I know since I played it over Christmas break on a whim.)
