Bravely Second Coming to U.S.

Nintendo hosted a Direct Micro event this morning, a bite-sized version of the traditional Nintendo Direct. One of the big pieces of news from the broadcast was the announcement of a Bravely Second localization for the U.S.

The sequel to Bravely Default features a new story and protagonist, though some familiar faces makes appearances in Bravely Second: End Layer. It takes place after the events of the first game, but Bill Trinen mentions in the Direct Micro broadcast that new players will be able to jump right in without playing the first game.

As for gameplay, Bravely Second appears to stick close to the formula from the first game. Players still take part in strategic turn-based battles, and the sequel will likely include the brave and default options in combat.

Bravely Second already came out in Japan back in April, but fans in the west will have to wait until 2016 to get their hands on the 3DS JRPG.
