New Destiny Raid to Release After The Taken King

Bungie is getting ready to release the biggest Destiny expansion yet with The Taken King. It introduces a ton of new content, such as additional story missions, strikes, maps, and plenty of other goodies. There will also be a new raid, but it won't come out on launch day.

In a recent Twitch stream, Bungie revealed that the new raid in The Taken King unlocks on September 18, three days after the initial release of the expansion. In order to access the raid, players will need to complete the end game content and create a group of six players.

The reason for the slight delay is that Bungie wants players to fully experience the new campaign in The Taken King. If everyone had access to it on day one, the company worries that people would rush through the new missions in an effort to reach the raid as quickly as possible.

The Taken King raid – titled King's Fall – is the first since Crota's End in The Dark Below DLC. That one came out on December 9, 2014, so fans are eagerly awaiting the next big co-op mission. It helps that raids make up the best content in all of Destiny.

In the meantime, prospective players can check out the teaser trailer for the raid above. The Taken King comes out on September 15 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
