Reviewers Won’t Have Access to Tom Clancy’s The Division Until Launch Day

Given that Tom Clancy's The Division is looking to be an extremely lengthy MMO-like shooter RPG, we were wondering when review codes would be available. Ideally, we want our reviews to release at least by launch day, particularly for triple-A titles like this.

But given that The Division functions on its multiplayer servers, it doesn't come as too much of a surprise that Ubisoft has announced, through its official blog, that reviewers will have access to the game "along with everyone else when it's released on March 8." Ubisoft admits that "it's impossible for us to populate the servers in a way that would adequately replicate playing The Division on launch day."

As such, you can expect us to have an impressions, review-in-progress piece within a few days of launch and a final review later on once we've explored pretty much everything the game has to offer.

Ubisoft expects that a few impression pieces will be available within the first few days of launch based on the beta which set a record of 6.4 million players.

You can start preloading the game on Xbox One today, on March 3 at 9AM PT for PC, and March 6 at 12:01AM local time on PS4 (except for Japan).
