Dishonored 2's long-awaited New Game Plus mode is finally on the horizon, Bethesda announced today, and it will let you use powers from both Emily and Corvo regardless of which character you use.
This is the first of two planned free updates, titled "Game Update 1," and it will be available as a Beta today on PC with a full release on all available platforms planned for Monday.
"“Dishonored players have asked for it, so now New Game Plus is here for Dishonored 2,” Creative Director Harvey Smith said, as quoted in the announcement. “If you've ever wanted to make higher-powered characters, now's your chance. If you've wanted to play Emily Kaldwin with Possession or Devouring Swarm, or Corvo Attano with Domino, now you can. We've been having fun with it here at Arkane Studios, and we hope you will too.”
The release notes also indicate much-needed fixes to certain Bonecharm effects, such as Strong Arm, that many people complained did not work properly, in addition to continuing performance and optimization improvements, but that was unspecific.
Unfortunately, both the mission select and custom difficulty settings that were earlier announced alongside New Game Plus won't arrive until January, released as "Game Update 2." But, with the PC performance issues clearing up and a lot of these new ways to engage with the game arriving shortly, the future of Dishonored 2 is finally looking bright.
