Since Outlast 2 was delayed to 2017, developer Red Barrels has been relatively mum on when this year it would come out. That silence ended today, when they tweeted the picture above, along with the confirmation that the horror sequel would release on April 25, 2017 on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Despite a brief scare from their Twitter account, Outlast 2 will be available on all three of those platforms both digitally and physically.
Red Barrels also announced a collection of Outlast, Outlast: Whistleblower and Outlast 2 that will release simultaneously on Xbox One and PS4 called Outlast: Trinity. So, if you need to catch up on the first two games, that's certainly no worry.
A price hasn't been announced for Outlast 2 just yet. The first game, which is bound to end up much shorter than Outlast 2 retailed at $20 when it released, so Outlast 2 could reasonably end up in the $40 range, assuming there is more to it. This would make it a cheaper alternative to people who haven't played Resident Evil 7, which we identified earlier this year as Outlast 2's chief competition.
