Gears of War 3 still holds the crown for the year's biggest retail launch so far, and as you should expect, DLC is already in the pipeline for delivery. The first pack will run players $10 and add a batch of new content to the game's Horde and Beast modes.
Three new maps (Blood Drive, Rustlung, and Azura), three new characters (Onyx Guard, Big Rig Dizzy, and Bernie Mataki), and two new weapon skins (Team Plasma and Jungle Camo). Apparently the new maps will also be playable in private versus mode matches.
Easily the most important aspect of the DLC is the enhancement it'll offer to Horde Mode's tower-defense aspects. Command Centers will allow players to call in snipers, mortars or those fancy sun guns. Sentries and bots will also get new upgrades.
At $10, and as part of the game's Season Pass DLC discount, the Horde Command Pack is only the first in a long line of DLC planned for Gears of War 3, out now on Xbox 360.
