In the wake of the smash hit that was Resident Evil 7, many people liked to revisit games in the series, such as Revelations and Revelations 2 saying that they were actually pretty good. If you still don't believe the apologists, you can find out about the former for yourself pretty soon.
Capcom announced today that Resident Evil Revelations will be coming to the PS4 and the Xbox One in Fall 2017. This will be in both physical and digital form in the North America and Europe regions.
The announcement did not indicate that this would be any sort of remaster, so it's possible they're just porting it over, akin to adding backwards compatibility.
Another thing the announcement did not include was any indication that the title would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Since the HD version of Revelations (though not Revelations 2) was available on the Wii U, many commenters seemed to be expecting that any next-gen port would include Nintendo's latest console.
But, it wouldn't be surprising if this release rode the coattails of Resident Evil 7 and improved Revelations' reputation among the gaming community. People who own a Nintendo Switch will likely still hate it.
