Diablo III’s Necromancer Closed Beta Is About To Begin

We've known since last year that the Necromancer class is returning to Diablo, and today Blizzard let out new info regarding the timing of Diablo III's upcoming Necromancer beta test. Per a post on its battle.net site (a brand that's being phased out, by the way), the beta will begin, you guessed it, "soon."

It sounds vague, but it's actually quite apparent the beta will start in short order. Per Blizzard, invitations to the closed beta will be sent worldwide, at which point invitees can jump in and have at it immediately. Of course, you don't have to be "in the know" to join, as Blizzard provides specific instructions on how best to participate, seen below.

If you're interested in participating in the Necromancer beta test, you’ll want to make sure you've opted-in for beta testing. To opt in, simply visit your Beta Profile Settings page in Account Management, check the Diablo box under Beta Tests I'm Interested In, and then click Update Preferences. In order to be eligible to participate in the closed beta, you must have an active Diablo III license attached to your Blizzard account in good standing (i.e. not suspended or banned).

Of course, these steps don't guarantee an invite, but they're the bare minimum required for a coveted invite email to arrive in the first place. Blizzard has also posted a detailed FAQ to its site, outlining how participants are selected, what will be available over the beta's course, and more.

Notably, GameRevolution has been told it will receive early access to the Necromancer beta, so keep your eyes peeled for our impressions in the near future. In the meantime, the best rabbit hole I can recommend is the Diablo III wiki, where most information regarding the upcoming content is compiled.
