Darkness Takes Hold In This New Outlast 2 Trailer

Outlast 2 is fast approaching, and before you're terrified in person, Red Barrel wants to make sure you're thoroughly spooked just by viewing the game's promotional materials. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to horror myself, so in my case their mission has been handily accomplished.

The latest attempt is the upload of a new Outlast 2 trailer, added to developer Red Barrels' YouTube channel earlier today. You can view it below.

The trailer riffs on the song "If You're Happy and You Know It," swapping in disconcerting warnings to "be careful" drawn from the tune's originally less ominous biblical counterpart. Red Barrels also included some vague, foreboding information regarding what to expect from the game in the video's description.

No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. Outlast 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.

Outlast 2 is just four days away, set to release on April 25th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The first Outlast was regarded as genuinely terrifying by many, so if that's a hobby of yours then surely you'll want to stick around for its sequel.
