Mass Effect Demo Available in February

Oh, Valentine's Day. The day when countless single men and women stare at couples with squinty eyes and cry on the inside. There, there. It's going to be okay. BioWare has your back.

Releasing on February 14, the Mass Effect 3 demo will feature the opening attack on Earth by the Reapers (finally, we get to see Earth) as well as an undisclosed section somewhere deeper in the campaign. Beyond the single-player campaign, players can also try out the co-operative multiplayer mode and findle with some of the available customization options.

Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series, cannot wait for the demo to arrive, on Xbox 360 and PS3:

We are excited to be able to give gamers an expansive demo that will put them right on the front lines of this all-out galactic war. The entire scale of the game is bigger than anything we’ve ever done. With its intense action, deep customization and raw emotional power, Mass Effect 3 will deliver a spectacular action RPG experience to fans of the series and newcomers alike.

The cooperative part of the demo is only available on February 14 for those who have "activated their Battlefield 3 online pass or through other opportunities that will be annoucned in the near feature [on] www.masseffect.com". Otherwise, it will be available on February 17. (Have they convinced you to play Battlefield 3 yet?)

Mass Effect 3 fully arrives on March 6, 2012 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in North America and in Europe on March 9, 2012.
