League of Legends Hacked

Hackers have struck again, this time with League of Legends, but it at least they ignored the financial information. They just hacked into your personal information, like passwords, dates of birth, answers to security questions, and users' real names. No one can make any use of that, right?

If you're a League of Legends player in EU West, EU Nordic, and EU East, Riot Games is going to require you to change your password the next time you log in.

"Even though we store passwords in encrypted form only, our security investigation determined that more than half of the passwords were simple enough to be at risk of easy cracking," said a representative from Riot Games.

Riot Games has assured players that it fixed the exploit that let the hackers in and that they had hired a new team of experts to investigate the breach.

"Brandon and I want to sincerely and personally apologize to you for this situation," said Marc Merrill, president of Riot Games. "We take your privacy and security seriously, and we're working diligently to improve it for the better."

In other news, hackers still suck.
