There was a time when you'd walk into a retailer and see games lining the shelves covered in funny little icons: "Only for Xbox", "Only on PlayStation", "Play It Loud".
With console exclusives dying one of those slow deaths, platform holders have had to turn to exclusive content to pretty up their respective box arts.
Take L.A. Noire, for example. Word surfaced that the PS3, which was originally the console L.A. Noire was to be exclusive to, will instead be getting some exclusive content. What that content consisted of was a mystery until a recent advertisement spilled the beans.
The Consul's Car Traffic Case will presumably be available to purchasers whose PS3s only do Team Bondi's upcoming murder mystery. Walmart and Gamestop both offer exclusive missions like the aforementioned case as pre-order bonuses. With L.A. Noire just over a month away, you can bet that TV advertisements, trailers, and anything you download over the PSN will promote the bonus content.
