Portal 2 has to answer a lot of questions for fans. What happened to Chell? What happened to GLaDOS? Um… other questions!
One burning issue Valve's decided to answer before Portal 2's release next week is how Steam will interact with the PlayStation Network and the PS3. Obviously, Steam support will make its console debut with Portal 2 on April 19, but what about Steam Achievements and Trophy support.
If you're playing Portal 2 on the PS3, you can unlock Trophies and Achievements at the same time. You'll also be able to access the Steam overlay in game just like you can on the PC and Mac. You can see the status of Steam friends, send chat messages, see player profiles and friend requests.
Oh, and Steamworks on PS3 supports cross-platform multiplayer covering PS3, PC, and Mac players. What, you want more? How do game-saves in the Steam Cloud sound? That kind of support will help when you stop playing on your PS3 and move to your PC or Mac. Portal 2 gamers who buy the PS3 version of the game will get a code to access the game on Steam for the PC and Mac in the same vein of all Steamplay games.
I'm having flashbacks of the Orange Box.
