For Honor‘s low Steam player count might be “fake news” to those at Ubisoft Montreal, but the developers are still focusing on increasing it. A couple weeks ago, they had a free weekend, and now a long-awaited double experience weekend. Announced today on Twitter, For Honor will have a double XP weekend starting August 25 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time to August 28 at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.

A double experience weekend has been one of the most requested events by the For Honor community, with several high-profile Reddit threads asking for just that. Sometimes, players would ask for this as compensation for some technical issue or another, but Ubisoft Montreal has always rewarded Champion Status as compensation for down time, something players have grown tired of.
This is part of a huge push by For Honor, who seems to be making all the right moves to grow its playerbase and keep strong engagement to avoid a descent into irreverence. For Honor has already made big splashes this summer by announcing an upcoming switch to Dedicated Servers, after months wasting in peer-to-peer connectivity, as well as a free weekend, and big changes and content additions to its subsequent seasons.
Biggest takeaway: For Honor isn’t calling it quits just yet.
