Friday the 13th Patch Goes Live, Adds Small Maps and More

Friday the 13th: The Game has been teasing new content for weeks now, and, today, some of that new content has been delivered. Without announcement, a 2.8 gigabyte patch released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and, the official patch notes can be read here.

One thing we can confirm is that the Small Maps variant is live. These are three variations of the currently existing maps, only smaller. This means that Jason won’t have to go as far to kill people, but it also means that counselors won’t have to search as much to find objectives and parts for those objectives, possibly making it easier for them as well.

This patch also also include the landmark changes to team-killing, making it almost impossible for counselors to kill one another in public matches (private matches still have team-killing enabled). In addition, this Friday the 13th: The Game patch also includes dozens of technical fixes, including people getting off the map and items falling through the ground.

Some fans think this also shed light on the mysterious dots Gun Media teased for Friday the 13th: The Game. In a series of two pictures the Friday the 13th: The Game Twitter account posted, eight dots were arranged in two rows of four. In the first image, the eighth dot was highlighted blue. In the second image, the second dot was highlighted. Fans think that 2 and 8 was to signify the 28th of August, today’s date, when the patch finally dropped – though, personally, I’m not convinced.

This update does not appear to have added the DLC of free emotes, or the 1980s Spring Break counselor clothing pack, and it also did not add the recently announced new game mode, although that was not reasonably expected.
