Shin Megami Tensei V For Nintendo Switch Announced

Shin Megami Tensei V for Nintendo Switch got its first official trailer today from Atlus. The game was originally teased in the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 way back in January, but this is the first time we get to see the actual title.

We don’t have a release date or any other info for SMT 5 other than what we can see in the trailer. It looks like we’ll be heading back to modern-day Japan this time around, and demons have again invaded. Another interesting tidbit we get from the trailer is that the game is being made in Unreal Engine. This is old news, but it’s weird to see the Unreal Engine icon on an SMT game.

The last game in the Shin Megami Tensei series, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse released on the Nintendo 3DS last year. The previous few SMT games have been handheld-only, so it’ll be cool to see what Atlus can pull off on the Nintendo Switch.

So far it looks like Shin Megami Tensei V is only coming to the Switch, but it’s possible that we may see it on other systems. With so little information on the upcoming title, it’s impossible to know anything for sure.
