PUBG Anti-Cheat Banned 1 Million Players in January Alone

One of the biggest problems plaguing the incredibly successful PUBG, is the huge number of cheaters rearing their ugly heads and spoiling the fun for everyone else. There are PUBG cheats which allow scumbag players to withstand damage, see where enemies are located at on the map, and numerous other silly exploits.

To help wrap our heads around just how huge a problem this is, the PUBG anti-cheat service, BattlEye, regularly provides updates on the number of PUBG bans it has carried out.

The latest statistic shared by the BattlEye Twitter account is the number of bans during January 2018. In just 31 days, over 1 million PUBG cheaters were banned.

That figure absolutely blows my mind. What an insane number of people employing cheats to win at a video game!

What’s even worse, is that despite carrying out this huge number of bans, BattlEye says that “things continue to escalate.”

PUBG Anti Cheat

To assist BattlEye in the fight against evil PUBG cheaters, the developers have put together a dedicated team to focus solely on finding and blocking cheat programs. This was described in a recent blog post:

To this end, we have established a dedicated team to focus on combating cheat programs and since our launch on early access we have been committed to detecting and preventing such programs. As part of that effort, we have developed a new anti-cheat solution internally. We will be introducing an early version of the solution on our live servers next week (this is the solution that is currently being tested on our test servers). This solution will complement the systems that have been developed and implemented already. Its main focus for now is blocking unauthorized programs but it will be further developed to broaden the scope of its abilities.

Here’s hoping the combination of BattlEye and the dedicated developer force can significantly lessen the number of cheaters impacting the game and players’ enjoyment.
