While January is often a sad time for game releases, with the busy pre-holiday winter slot having passed, and gamers being a little less willing to part with their money, Monster Hunter World seems to have survived.
Not only has the game received fantastic scores from reviewers (including us), it has also claimed the top spot on the UK games charts for the second week running, rising above the likes of EA Sports UFC 3, Call of Duty: WWII, FIFA 18, and Grand Theft Auto V.
Here are the top 20 games (physical sales only) as reported by Chart Track:
- Monster Hunter: World
- EA Sports UFC 3
- Call of Duty: WWII
- FIFA 18
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Dragon Ball FighterZ

It’s great to see Monster Hunter World sales climb to such heights, and I’m glad that the January launch date didn’t work against the title. Kudos for the brave release, and thank you, Capcom, for giving us something new to play this month!
Have you contributed to the Monster Hunter World sales figures? If so, let me know if you’re enjoying your time with the game. (I just got started this past weekend!)
