Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Rumored to Release on Switch in 2018

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is reportedly coming to the Nintendo Switch this year. It has recently been listed on the Spanish retailer XtraLife.

No specific release date is provided in the listing, as it only lists a generic release window of 2018. Nothing has been officially confirmed by developer Vicarious Visions or publisher Activision. The game has been highly successful, with sales figures already reaching over 2.5 million units worldwide a few months after releasing.

Rumors were already circulating online earlier this month when GB eye licensing manager Max Arguile suggested that Activision is working on a brand new Crash Bandicoot game, while also bringing the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to other platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PC.

A Spyro Remastered Trilogy is also purportedly in development at Vicarious Visions. If this rumor is true, the trilogy will likely include Spyro the DragonRipto’s Rage!, and Year of the Dragon. No official announcement has been made so far on the possibility of a Spyro Remastered Trilogy releasing in the near future.

Although the Crash Bandicoot series has traditionally been a Sony PlayStation exclusive since its debut in the 90s, that could finally change. It has been rumored that the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a timed exclusive and there would be no barriers to stop Activision from porting it to other platforms after the 12 months has ended.

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was originally released for the PS4 in June 2017. It is a collection of remasters of the first three titles in the Crash Bandicoot franchise, which includes Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back and Warped. New features added to the remasters were unified checkpoints, pause menus and save systems, including both manual and automatic saving, time trials, as well as the ability to play most levels as Crash’s sister Coco. We gave it a 4.5 out of 5 in our review, which you can check out here.
