Gran Turismo Sport Getting 12 New Mystery Cars Next Week

Gran Turismo Sport will be releasing a set of new mystery cars next week. As seen in the released image, there will be a total of 12 new cars.

The image was originally tweeted by Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi. The 12 cars are partially silhouetted to maintain the mystery for its eventual unveiling and release next week. Yamauchi-san did not mention a specific release date for the update.

According to user Salmone_D_Oro from a forum discussion on Resetera, the mystery cars might be a Formula One car from the nineties or late eighties, an eighties Toyota Supra, a 2017 Alpine A110, a Toyota MR2 from the nineties, another older Alpine, an Audi R8 V8 or V10, a De Tomaso Pantera, a Ford Mustang, a Dodge Challenger or Plymouth Hemi Cuda and a Lamborghini Aventador.

As reported by GTplanet, it is speculated that the mystery cars might include the Supra Mk3, a first-generation Audi R8, both the original Alpine A110 and its modern equivalent, as well as several classic American pony cars, a Lamborghini Aventador, and a few Japanese race cars, one of which looks like a Subaru BRZ.

There was originally planned to be at least 50 DLC cars for Gran Turismo Sport. These 12 new mystery cars coming next week will bring the total DLC cars released to 37, which leaves only 13 cars left to be released presumably by the end of March.

Back in October when the game was released, we said that “Gran Turismo Sport would have been a great racer a decade ago when there was much less competition to compare it to.” We gave it a rating of 3 out of 5 in our review.

Gran Turismo Sport is a racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released exclusively on the PS4. It was so popular during the holiday season in 2017 that PSN thought they were under siege by a DDOS attack.
