Sony unveiled the Super-Slim PS3 today in Japan at their Tokyo Game Show press conference. The new model is a significant step up from the current slim-line PS3, with a much increased hard drive capacity and a new look. The Super-Slim PS3 will run US consumers $299.00 for the 500 GB model and $269 for the 250 GB model.
500GB launches October 30th for $299
250GB launches September 25th for $249 ($269 bundled with Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception: Game of the Year edition)
The new model will hit Japanese retailers on September 25th as well.
As it was discovered ealier this year, the Super Slim PS3 includes some slightly altered design choices, but for the most part retains everything the Slim PS3 has on store shelves today. Backwards compatibility was dropped when the PS3 moved from launch units to second-line productions.
Some other stuff was said, but I don't fucking speak Japanese so get off my back. We'll update this post with further information as it comes from our own Sony Computer Entertainment of America.
