Hello Games has announced that No Man’s Sky will be releasing an Xbox One version soon. The game was originally released for the PS4 and PC in August 2016. 505 Games will be in charge of distributing the retail version of the game worldwide. The game will be coming to the Xbox One with HDR and 4K support enhancements for Xbox One X. All of the previous major updates to No Man’s Sky will be available from day one, including Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises.
That’s not all that the developer has in store for No Man’s Sky players. A new major update will be arriving in summer 2018, dubbed No Man’s Sky NEXT. Hello Games founder Sean Murray said in a news post on the official site: “We called our upcoming update “NEXT”, because it’s an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community. It will be our biggest update so far, and something we’ve been working ridiculously hard on. This will be free to existing players, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.”
He confirmed that NEXT will be available for the Xbox One version of the game from day one as well. Additionally, Murray also revealed that No Man’s Sky will be coming to the Tencent Chinese platform, WeGame. He added that China has been the game’s biggest region for players since the Altas Rises update last year.
We reported that No Man’s Sky only recently went from receiving mostly negative reviews on Steam to finally getting positive feedback after its Atlas Rises update went live back in August 2017. In our review, we gave it a rating of 3.5 out of 5. At the time of writing, no specific release date has been revealed for the Xbox One version of No Man’s Sky.
