While likely not up to snuff with whatever Neil Blomkamp had in mind for a Halo movie before switching gears to District 9, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn is a remarkably well-crafted effort that does the Halo franchise justice—well, at least the first part anyway.
Chapter one of 343 Industries' live action series has just launched on Machinima and tells the story of one UNSC cadet, Thomas Lasky, and his growth into the soldier who will play a major role in the events of Halo 4. Sure, the movie may be a bit cheesy at times, but as a fan of the Halo universe and story-heavy games in general, I applaud the studio for using various forms of media to flesh out further the universe that Bungie created.
