Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer RDR 2

The New Red Dead Redemption Trailer is Simply Stunning

A new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer is out, and it’s about time. We only got a taste of what the game has to offer with the last RDR 2 trailer, and we’re finally getting a clearer picture of what to expect with trailer #3. Red Dead Redemption 2 was initially supposed to release in Spring 2018 but was pushed to October 26 after an announcement by Rockstar in February. Delays usually spell trouble for a title, especially when they’re for “polishing,” but the new RDR 2 trailer has gone a long way towards alleviating my fears.

New Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer: What do we Know About RDR 2?

Rockstar has been mum on what exactly to expect in RDR 2. We do know that it’s at least a partial prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption and that the primary player character will be Arthur Morgan. Morgan is a member of Dutch van der Linde’s gang, the same group that John Marston was part of before settling down as a rancher.

Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place around 1900, which is about a decade before the first RDR. It’s likely we’ll visit New Austin, West Elizabeth, and possibly Nuevo Paraiso again, though, we’ll probably also see new locales as well. We can expect the frontier to be a little wilder and lawless as federal control won’t have quite the reach it does by the time the original Red Dead Redemption takes place.

Previous trailers haven’t given us much to go on. The first trailer for RDR 2 premiered in October 2016 and basically just showed a bunch of environmental shots, and shadowy figures.

The second Red Dead Redemption trailer came out in September of last year and finally showed a few details about the characters and plot, but after watching the trailer, we still had no idea who Arthur Morgan really is or what his goals might be.

Finally, though, with the third trailer we’ve gotten more of a handle on RDR 2 as you can see below.
