Following on from the recent discovery that Fortnite will be heading to the Nintendo Switch thanks to data miners discovering it on the Switch’s servers, Paladins has been found in much the same way. Fans of free online shooters seemingly have a lot to look forward to on Switch, and both Fortnite and Paladins could launch very soon.
Yes, it won’t be very long before we find out whether or not both Fortnite and Paladins are making their way onto Switch. Nintendo’s E3 Direct is just around the corner and any such announcements would likely be made then. What makes both of these leaks so interesting, however, is that they both suggest each game could release during E3. An exciting prospect, for sure.
What is Paladins?
Paladins is an online multiplayer shooter in the same vein as Overwatch. Hi-Rez Studios’ title has been downloaded over 17 million times on Steam and has seen release on both PS4 and Xbox One already. A hero shooter in which teams face off against each other as one of 36 playable characters, Paladins looks to be filling a void in the Switch’s library.
With the release of both Fortnite and Paladins all-but confirmed, the Switch’s library is looking all the stronger, as (aside from Splatoon 2 and DOOM) there aren’t too many shooters on the console. Of course, those looking to play any of these games will have to pay for an online subscription when the service launches later this year.
It won’t be long before we know how realistic these leaks have been, but if true, perhaps we may even see Overwatch hit the Switch before long. With these potential games hitting the Switch, Nintendo desperately needs to work on their voice-chat options. How will we be able to work together properly if we can’t talk to each other?
