Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED finally made its first appearance with a story trailer at Microsoft’s conference at E3 2018. It shows a gritty world of cybernetics and violence that doesn’t disappoint. We didn’t get to see any gameplay, and we didn’t get a release date, but just knowing it still exists feels great.
We hadn’t seen anything official about Cyberpunk 2077 since January 2013 before today, and although CD Projekt RED confirmed several times in the past that it’s still working on the game, some were skeptical as to whether it would get released or not. Those who were faithful were rewarded and those who had doubts had their fears allayed today with this amazing trailer showcasing a United States gone down the drain. The country has fragmented and mega-corporations have taken control. These corporations have built cities in which their workers are housed and no one else. Outside of those enclaves the country is a wasteland where the old governments and gangs fight.
One cool feature said to be in the game is that there are many characters that don’t speak English. To understand them you’ll actually have to purchase cybernetic implants that will help translate. The more expensive the implant the better the translation.
Cyberpunk 2077 won’t have multiplayer according to CD Projekt RED and is slated to be a game on the scale of The Witcher 3 or even bigger. It will also receive free DLC post-launch and is confirmed to not have any microtransactions.
