Cyberpunk 2077 romance and full-frontal nudity have been confirmed by CD Projekt Red quest designer Patrick Mills, who mentioned this during an interview with Eurogamer at E3. Considering that CD Projekt Red is the creator behind the raunchy, raucous sex scenes in The Witcher series we’re not all that surprised that full-frontal nudity will be a thing we’ll see in the upcoming cyberpunk RPG.
Another thing that has been confirmed is that there will be an option to take people back home to your swanky apartment to have a one-night stand – another thing that is very Witcher-like in our opinion. But The Witcher comparisons aside, Cyberpunk 2077 is its own game and so while you can have sex with everyone with no strings attached, forming long-lasting romantic attachments is also possible.
In the interview with Eurogamer, Mills was asked whether playing a male or female version of V will change who you would be able to romance. This was his answer: “certainly the romances will be different.” He continued, “while many of the characters you can romance in our game are bisexual, not all of them are. They have preferences as well. We want them to feel like living people with histories.”
This may be disappointing news for some, especially coming off the back of the news that you’ll be able to romance anyone you like in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but the thought of having a variety of varying sexualities does promise to be an interesting aspect that will allow players the opportunity to play both versions of V if they so choose.
However, Mills did also speak that romances could have the possibility of changing the story too. But when asked further, said, “in terms of how the story changes, we don’t want to reveal too many story details, but there will be differences.”
That sounds particularly interesting. In games such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect, some romances felt more important to the story than others, so we wonder if Cyberpunk 2077 romances will take on this sort of role or something else entirely.
