Octopath Traveler Release Date PC PS4 Xbox One

Octopath Traveler Will Feature Up to 100 Hours of Content, New Demo Available

Octopath Traveler was one of the game’s Nintendo featured at this year’s E3 and during the Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation, the game’s producer Masashi Takahashi from Square Enix revealed a few details on the game, including its length and the release of a new demo.

It was revealed that the game’s main story will be around 50 to 60 hours long but those who want to experience more of the game will be able to complete all the sub-stories and side quests which will push playtime to around 80 to 100 hours. 50 to 60 hours is already quite a lot for many single-player games these days so having the option to increase that to up to 100 hours will definitely sit well with those who really want to invest some time into the game.

Alongside the playtime reveal, it was also announced that a new demo, officially called Octopath Traveler Prologue Demo, is now available for download on the Switch eShop in North America, with other regions getting it soon. The demo will allow players to experience the game as any of the eight available playable characters in the game for up to three hours. Those who try out the demo will also have the opportunity to transfer their save date to the main game when it releases.

Octopath Traveler is a new turn-based RPG from Square Enix that combines 16-bit sprites and textures with polygonal environments and high-definition effects. The game features aesthetics that are very similar to classic Square Enix titles such as Bravely Default and Final Fantasy Tactics. It also features turn-based combat and players will be able to choose one of eight adventurers, each of which start and can go about the game’s story in different ways.

Octopath Traveler is scheduled for release on July 13, 2018, for the Nintendo Switch. You can check out the Octopath Traveler segment of Nintendo Treehouse Live at E3 below:
