Dragon Quest Treasures Base Building

Dragon Quest Treasures Base Building Explained in New Trailer

Square Enix has provided an in-depth look on the Dragon Quest Treasures base building that youthful protagonists Erik and Mia will need to construct. Revealed in the second half of the new overview trailer for the game, the pair will find a castle that will become their one-stop shop for storing treasure, recruiting new monsters, and purchasing items.

Dragon Quest Treasures base includes a vault, dormitory, shops, and personnel department

After discovering and operating the train, likely in the early part of their adventure in Draconia, Erik and Mia will be able to claim the castle as the gang’s new base. Every piece of treasure they uncover will be appraised, sometimes to the tune of millions of gold, and then promptly stored in the base’s vault. The gang’s overall rank is tied to the total gold value of all of their collected treasures. It’s unclear whether this rank is merely cosmetic or pivotal to the game progression, but it wouldn’t be too surprising if gaining more renown unlocks more base facilities and entices higher-level monsters to the recruitment table at the personnel department.

The base’s dormitory will house your collected monsters for easy swapping, and the dispatch station will allow you to send them out on missions in various areas for extra collectibles. After gathering treasures from across Draconia like Erdrick’s Sword, you can display them in the vault. You’ll also be able to purchase materials from B. Rix’s Emporium, craft or buy pellets at The Werks, and cook dishes at the cafeteria with Chez Blancmange.

Dragon Quest Treasures is scheduled to release on December 9, 2022 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Pre-ordering the Standard Edition will net you a set of Chimaera Wings, Fullheal Pellets, and Better Buddy Bullets. These extra goodies will also come with the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes three monster allies and additional batches of Omniheal Bombs and Bestest Buddy Bullets.

In other news, players are calling for Trombone Champ to release on consoles after its success on Steam, and more Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands games are coming after its major success.
