Total War Warhammer 2 for Mac and Linux

Total War Warhammer 2 Coming to Mac and Linux This Year

Total War Warhammer 2 is coming to Mac and Linux later this year, according to an announcement by developer Feral Interactive. The studio also worked on the macOS and Linux versions of Total War: WarhammerTotal War Warhammer 2 is the second in a trilogy of Total War titles set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe of Games Workshop. Total War: Warhammer, Total War: Warhammer 2, and the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 3 combine to form the Mortal Empires campaign, the largest Total War experience ever.

Feral Interactive Managing Director said in a statement:

“The race to control the Great Vortex adds a thrilling dimension to the campaign because every advance players make raises the stakes for their faction. Not only must players contend with rivals for the Vortex’s power, but also with the dire consequences of success – each time they increase their control over the Vortex, the monstrous forces of Chaos are released into their lands…”

The game takes place across four continents – Ulthuan, Naggaroth, The Southlands, and Lustria – and centers around the control of the Great Vortex in Ulthuan. The game’s campaign features a total of five races – Lizardmen, High Elves, Dark Elves, and Skaven – each with their own narrative storyline in the campaign.

Like previous Total War games, Total War Warhammer 2 features both turn-based empire building and real-time tactical strategy battles. The former will have players manage settlement, recruit armies, negotiate alliances, or declare war while the latter will put players in command of armies as they wage war against their enemies.

Total War Warhammer 2 was originally developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA for PC. It was released last year on September 28, 2017. The game was generally well received and was nominated for several awards over the past year.

Total War Warhammer 2 for Mac and Linux will be released later this year. More information on pricing as well as system requirements will also be released at a later date. You can check out the trailer for the announcement below:
