Agent 47 Voice Actor Will Continue His Role in Hitman 2

Hitman‘s titular hitman will keep his same voice in the upcoming sequel. David Bateson, the Agent 47 voice actor, will retain his role in Hitman 2 when it comes out on November 13 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Bateson has played 47 since the franchise’s inception in 2000 with Hitman: Codename 47.

The Hollywood Reporter recently confirmed that the South African actor would continue the role. Last year, he told the publication about his version of Agent 47 as well as discussing Timothy Olyphant’s role as the assassin in the universally panned 2007 film. Bateson also praised developer IO Interactive for not dumbing the series down and demanding attention and skill from its players. He also stated his support for the episodic model in Hitman.

Although he has always been the Agent 47 voice actor, it wasn’t always as smooth as it sounds. Through failed communications between him and IO Interactive, Bateson thought he was unceremoniously dropped from his most iconic role. He eventually returned and voiced Agent 47 in the final version of the game which he announced in a cheeky video.

Hitman 2, on the other hand, is ditching the episodic approach and going for a full $60 release. Although the game will retain the huge sandboxes from Hitman with multiple routes and ways to kill your targets. Our E3 2018 preview praised the game for its wide and open level design.

Hitman 2 will also have two premium versions. The Silver Edition grants buyers to the game’s first expansion. The Gold Edition will include the first two expansions as well as access to the game four days early.

While the game doesn’t come out until November 13, players who pre-order now can download Hitman Sniper Assassin. This game boils Hitman down to its essentials and lets players assassinate targets from a distance with a sniper rifle. Sniper Assassin also supports co-op, which is a first for the series.
