The Witcher Tabletop RPG Release Date

The Witcher Tabletop RPG Release Date Target Is This August

The Witcher tabletop RPG release date is finally upon us, and we couldn’t be more excited to hear about it. The much-loved series by CD Projekt Red ended with The Witcher 3 in 2015, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wanting more from the universe. Some have even asked CD Projekt Red whether Ciri will be making an appearance in their upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077, much to the director’s frustration.

That said, while Ciri and the gang may not be making an appearance in that game, they certainly will be in The Witcher tabletop RPG. According to IGN, the publisher and designer behind the Cyberpunk 2020 game, R. Talsorian Games, has announced that they are almost ready to launch the game to their audience sometime in August.

The tabletop game is said to be set between the events of the games Assassin of Kings and Wild Hunt, allowing players to make up their own story as they progress through the game. What’s more, players will be able to create their own characters based on in-universe classes and races which sounds pretty exciting, especially as you can even decide to make your character a Witcher too. You’ll also have the option to send your character off to solve different quests, including resolving political tensions.

Of course, if you’d rather just play as Geralt and others, you can do that too. In fact, we’d recommend it for players who aren’t too sure on how to play the game first and want to use pre-made character’s stats to get a hang of it.

Unfortunately, people who aren’t able to go to  Gen Con 2018 this year will have to wait to get their hands on The Witcher tabletop game just a few days longer as it will debut during the convention. But there’s no need to worry, PDF and print copies of the book will be made available after Gen Con ends so you’ll be able to play the RPG as long as you want afterward.
